The Royal Mint has announced the return of Peter Rabbit onto UK commemorative 50p coins for one last time.
The 2020 design features on Brilliant Uncirculated, Silver Proof and Gold Proof 50p commemorative coins, and shows the cheeky rabbit in his trademark blue jacket sneaking under the gate in search of lettuces.

A coin that is to be enjoyed by the privileged few, the Royal Mint has restricted the limited edition to a mere 500 coins! Given the popularity of the Royal Mint’s Beatrix Potter coins, generally, and its Peter Rabbit issues specifically, we expect this tiny limited edition to sell out at speed. A Peter Rabbit 50p coin in good circulated condition (A few small contact marks on the coin, but retains some original shine and most of the original design detail.) will be worth more than a worn down battered coin. Prices shown on this page relate to coins created for circulation.
The hand-painted style of Beatrix Potter’s original illustration has been engraved by The Royal Mint’s coin designer, Emma Noble.
These 50p coins have since become one of the most popular numismatic collections ever issued and in 2020 the series sees the LAST EVER UK Peter Rabbit 50p coin issued. This is the fifth and final time everyone’s favourite bunny will feature on a UK 50p. The reverse of this coin features an original illustration of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix.

- The 2018 Peter Rabbit 50p depicts Peter Rabbit eating radishes. It was the first of four new Beatrix Potter coins released in 2018 to celebrate the life and work of Beatrix Potter.

The 2020 Peter Rabbit commemorative 50p coin is available in a variety of precious metal and base proof finishes from www.royalmint.com, with prices starting from £10. This is a commemorative coin and will not be entering general circulation, so this is the only way to own this special coin.
New 50p Coin
